Our Misson Is...
To be the devoted curator of Damascus Maryland history
and chronicle the historic human adventures of all its
people.
To tell the story that is the unique agricultural,
educational, economic, social, and spiritual history of the
community.
To preserve with integrity, stories, customs, rituals,
artifacts and landmarks of Damascus life.
To serve as the Damascus landmark exhibit center, dedicated
to the collection, preservation and maintenance of
historical artifacts.
To encourage each new generation to continue an alliance
with government and private organizations in order to
advance museum objectives.
To be an educational resource for schools, providing an
inspirational link between the children who are creating
history today and their community’s heritage.
To provide a window on Damascus creating greater cultural
awareness and appreciation for our history, while setting an
example of community spirit.
To be the cultural center for Damascus, where the community
and its visitors meet, create, learn and participate in
